US Army planes of WW II

Revell (Actually Special Hobby) Bell P-39 Airacobra with the markings of Aira Cutie. Nice kit that in some way are a little easier that the original as all resin and PE has been replaced by styrene and/or decals.

An old Hasegawa Boeing P-26 Peashooter. The US Army’s first monoplane. A neat little kit that fits pretty well in spite of its age. A very colourfull addition to most collections.

Two Revell Curtiss P-40 Warhawks. One P-40E pretty straight out of the box as a fighter from the Chines front, and the other redone as a late P-40F, meaning the engine was a Merlin instead of an Allison, so airintake moved from the top of the nose and into the undernose intake. Also the tail was extended to improve stability. One Eduard PE set was used, primarily on the F, but some not suitable for an F went on the E.

A Hobby Boss Northrop P-61B Black Widow. I had a good tim building this night fighter, the parts fit is pretty good, and I added the Eduard Self Adhesive interior set, it looks great. It is a fine kit, but with some errors, others have gone on of how there is a mix of A and B version in the kit, I will just notice thing I find important, there is no exhausts! And the back of the cylinders where it should fit, HB has placed the enginemount.

As most other modellers, I have also built the North American Aviation P-51 Mustang. Here is two Hasegawa, one out of box as Man O War and the other backdated to an earlier without the tail fillet. The last one is the Monogram “Phantom Mustang”. They are all D versions.

Williams Bros Seversky P-35. A short run kit with some demand for a little skill and patience, but it makes a pretty good model.

Revell Republic P-47D Bubbletop. An old kit a bit short on details, but good outline. This one is shown with left over bombs from another kit, as the ones in the kit are RAF type. Shown i Brazilian Air Force “Senta Pua” squadron markings. A squadron that participated in the fighting in Italy.

Revell P-47D Razorback in markings of Major James Goodson. Again bombs fro a different kit.

Before Trumpeter made their P-47N kit, I decided to make one from the old Revell kit. Extending the wings, reshaping the wingtips, deploying the flaps and replacing the engine with a later version in resin. Three drop tanks as the N was used for long range escort. The tanks are from the spares box. Markings are from Iwo Shia.
